Can Bergamot Oil Help Acne?

Can bergamot oil help acne? For those of us with blemish-prone skin, facial products containing oil tend to send us running in the opposite direction. My skin is already oily, and I don’t want to clog my pores with a greasy product.

Bergamot Dry Oil Combats Oily Skin

HollyBeth Organics’ Marigold Bergamot Dry Oil is different. It is not heavy oil that sits on top of your skin. It is actually a dry oil, meaning it sinks directly into the skin to heal and balance from below the surface. This lightweight moisturizer is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores (and we all know clogged pores can lead to more pimples!).  A powerful combination of grape seed, jojoba, calendula, and bergamot oil help acne, heal scars, and cure minor skin irritations while gently moisturizing and balancing the skin.

Lightweight Moisturizer

Not only is Marigold Bergamot Dry Oil a great anti-acne defense, it is also a lightweight moisturizer. On clean, dry skin, gently massage a small amount on your face and neck (a little goes a long way). Your skin will be soothed and hydrated – it is the perfect daily moisturizer for normal to oily skin.

I have to admit, I was a skeptic myself when I first looked into using bergamot oil, but I gave it a try and found it to be one of the best solutions for my blemish-prone skin. I even use it at night to help prevent future breakouts! This stuff is liquid anti-acne gold.

Anti-Aging Essential Oils: Spotlight on Carrot Seed

Anti-Aging Essential Oils

Anti-aging essential oils are key ingredients in HollyBeth Organics’ skin care products. Naturally loaded with powerful antioxidants and vitamins, essential oils have the amazing ability to deliver precious nutrients to the skin without clogging pores, bringing dull skin back to life and reversing the signs of aging.

Carrot Seed Essential Oil

Carrot seed provides one of the most powerful essential oils used to fight the signs of aging. Found in HollyBeth Organics most popular anti-aging skin solutions, this natural youth restorative hydrates, revives, protects, and tightens. Carrot seed essential oil contains carotenoids that protect from sun damage and free radicals that damage skin cells. High levels of vitamin A and vitamin C rejuvenate the skin, engendering cell regeneration and improving skin tone. Ultra-hydrating, this anti-aging essential oil pumps the skin with moisture, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Youth Tonics

Carrot seed essential oil is utilized in two of HollyBeth Organics’ most popular anti-aging solutions: Face & Neck Elixir and Eye Serum. Both products improve texture and tone, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagginess, and hydrate thirsty skin while protecting against damaging environmental elements. These powerful youth tonics harness the power of anti-aging essential oils to deliver remarkable age-reversing results.

Organic Facial Cleansers

So Many Facial Cleansers

Drug store shelves are full of many different facial cleansers, so how do you decide which one to try? Do you go for the exfoliating cleanser that clears your pores, should you try an acne-fighting face wash to combat breakouts, how about a hydrating cleanser that leaves your skin tingling? No matter what result a facial cleanser is promising, start by taking a look at the ingredients listed on the bottle and go for organic facial cleansers.

Pay Attention to Ingredients

A lot of those crazy words on the label are actually chemicals and alcohols, some of which can be very harmful to the skin – and even found in other household cleaning products. I don’t want to wash my face with the same chemicals used to deep clean bathroom tile! But what about “natural” face washes? Unfortunately, the term “natural” is not properly regulated and too easily utilized to sell an ideal. Once again, take a look at the ingredients to make sure you know what is going on your face.

Go Organic

Avoid unsavory chemicals and unrecognizable ingredients. Go for organic facial cleansers! Try products made with ingredients that come from plants, flowers, and trees, free of artificial ingredients and harmful chemicals. Keeping it simple will allow your skin to get back to its natural cycle, uninhibited by distracting chemicals that can throw off its balance. Bring your skin back to life!

Looking for a good organic cleanser? Try HollyBeth Organics Chamomile Foaming Cleanser (for normal to dry skin) or our Marigold Foaming Cleanser (for those of us with more oily skin). And remember, all of HollyBeth Organics’ products are 100% USDA certified organic, so we promise you will know exactly what you are putting on your skin.

How to Wash Your Face – Tips to Improve Your Skin Care Routine

How to Wash Your Face

Washing my face has been an every-day part of my life since, well, forever. When I wake up and when I go to bed, my face gets a thorough cleansing. After reading Marie Claire’s article “This Is How You Should *Really* Be Washing Your Face”, I realized it was time to make a few changes to my routine.

Start with a Cleansing Oil

I have to admit, there are nights when even after I wash my face, I know I still have a little eye makeup or powder left over. Marie Claire explains that simply washing your face will not remove all of your makeup. Start by using a cleansing oil to remove makeup and excess lotion before you wash your face. I suggest HollyBeth Organics’ Cleansing Oil. This purifying blend of camellia and avocado oil combined with lavender and anti-oxidants lifts away excess dirt while soothing the skin.

You May Not Need to Wash Twice Daily

I’ve always been a wash twice daily kind of gal. Marie Claire suggests the number of times you wash your face should be based on your skin type. If you have dry skin, stick to once a day. Prone to oily skin? Morning and night may still be the way to go. Either way, pay attention to what your skin needs. Over-cleansing can strip your skin of moisture.

Oily Skin? Go for a Foaming Wash

I tend to have oily skin – which will help combat wrinkles in the future! But for now, it just makes me feel greasy. Marie Claire recommends using a foaming cleanser, for it leaves the skin feeling thoroughly cleansed without any left-over residue. HollyBeth Organics has an amazing Marigold Foaming Facial Cleanser that deep cleans and balances the skin while combating oil.

Change can be good – especially if it means balanced, radiant skin. Thanks for the great tips Marie Claire!

double duty eye cream

The skin around your eyes is the first area to show signs of aging and the damaging effects of sun exposure, smoking, and environmental toxins. Why? Skin is thinnest around the eye area and as we age we lose muscle tone.  Sun exposure damages the elastin and collagen in your skin thus decreasing elasticity. Our customers swear by our eye cream and tell us that they have seen positive results around the eye using HollyBeth Organics eye cream loaded with camellia oil (uva protection properties) Vitamin E and jojoba oil. This is by far our number one seller. Customers e-mail us telling us they swear by it for cuticle cream and cold cream – what do you use it for?
