Phlox, flame in Greek, is a perennial flower native to North America. My phlox tend to bloom continually all summer, just cut off all the dead flowers and more spring up. Mine grow to about 5-6 feet tall and bloom in a bouquet, bunches of small lovely flowers so I cut the entire bunch off. Phlox is also known as Wild Sweet William and has been used to cure sore eyes, skin rashes and upset stomach.
