Blackberry or dewberry? I always thought mine were blackberries however a friend recently said they are dewberries. Apparently blackberries are upright whereas dewberries run along the ground and both are wild and quite vigorous. I remember picking and eating them as child while walking in the woods in North Georgia. The flowers they produce are subtle but stunning. Blackberries are full of vitamin C and E, and fat free. In history the leaves have been used to dye hair and the berries to cure gout.
