Green Bride Beauty

Green  Bride Beauty > Thank you!

Whether you’re bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride, or a guest, it shouldn’t be hard to achieve baby soft smooth lips. I created my Lovely Lip Scrub with ingredients found at home in the pantry. Formulated with honeyorganic sugar, and sweet almond and peppermint oils, my scrub exfoliates and nourishes to unveil luscious, supple lips after every use.

From the wind and sun to the foods we eat, your lips take a beating. By marrying honey, which is widely known as Mother Nature’s cure-all, with sugar, my scrub ensures that your lips stay hydrated while sloughing away dead skin cells. Sweet almond oil, rich in Vitamins A, B and E, soothes irritation while imparting additional moisture into the skin. The peppermint oil injects lips with menthol, both plumping lips and freshening breath. Simply mix up a batch, apply to lips and massage in a light, circular motion. Remove with a warm washcloth and follow with your favorite lip balm. Store in an air tight container at room temperature or for added refreshment, store in the refrigerator! This scrub also doubles as a lip gloss when the sugar is omitted. I recommend weekly treatments with my Lovely Lip Scrub to ensure your lips are prepped for the big day.

Create an oversize batch of HollyBeth’s scrub as DIY gifts for your bridesmaids. Put your mixture into reusable glass mason jars and simply add a bow in your wedding colors.

DIY Honey Beauty Recipes

Amy at New Moon Skincare asked me to make some recipes for an event with the National Honey Board this week. She added my grits and honey as well. Below are some I made for the group. For a great honey source check out:

Fruit Cleanser  – Strawberries, rich in vitams A and C, they are great for your skin and I love using them in recipes.

3T honey 3 large ripe strawberries 1T almond oil or you can use sunflower or apricot oil

Mix ingredients in a bowl and use to cleanse skin. It not only cleanses but moisturizes.

Lip balm ½ tsp. honey ½ tsp. sweet almond oil 1 drop peppermint essential oil

Mix and put in small container to carry in your purse.

Yogurt Mask 2 tsps. yogurt 2 tsps. honey 2 drops lavender

Mix ingredients in a bowl and apply using hands. Let mask dry and then rinse with cool water.

Skin Toner 1 ½ tsp. witch hazel 1/8 tsp. lemon juice 1/8 tsp. honey

Mix ingredients & use in spray bottle mist on your skin.

DIY Beauty Treats

There are many treats for your skin that you can whip up at home for an instant pick-me-up with the food in your fridge. This peach and cucumber face mask recipe, from Spa Magazine, instantly tightens and brightens the complexion. Ripe with enzymes and vitamin A, peaches help tighten pores. Cucumbers nourish connective tissue and rejuvenate the skin thanks to their abundance of silica. Plus, their ascorbic and caffeic acids prevent water retention, making them popular for reducing puffiness. Puree ½ peach and ½ a cucumber in a blender until smooth. Apply mixture to face, and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off to reveal fresh, glowing skin.
